The Regional Health and Social Directorate is responsible for the governance of the Regional Health Service.
The Regional Agency for Health and Social Care of Emilia-Romagna Region (RER-ASSR) operates as a technical and regulatory support for the Regional Health Service (SSR) and the Integrated system of interventions and social services. It promotes and addresses research in health services and develops research projects to experiment methods, technologies and social and organizational innovations, and it participates in the welfare policy change aimed at implementing strategies based on community and intersectional approach. The Regional Agency is also deeply involved in international initiatives, research programs and exchange experiences with other health care systems, mainly European but also overseas. The organization relies on experienced professionals and services devoted to identify, experiment, evaluate and disseminate innovations. The Regional Agency is part of national and international networks and can therefore count on large-scale maps of stakeholders.
